1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern all competitions operated by John’s Comps Ltd (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By entering any competition hosted on our website, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

  • Any entrant who disputes or reverses a payment (chargeback) will have their entry deemed invalid and will be excluded from the competition until payment has been successfully resolved.
  • We reserve the right to recover any costs incurred due to payment disputes. 

5. Competition Draws

  • The method of selecting the winner will be clearly stated on each competition page and will be one of the following:
    • A live draw conducted in a transparent manner, or
    • An automated random draw conducted at the end of the competition. We use a independent company (www.CompsLive.co) that automates and randomly draws the winner for us ensuring total fairness and transparity.
  • All draw outcomes shall be final and binding, subject to verification of eligibility.
  • We reserve the right to delay a draw if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. 

 

6. Odds of Winning

  • The odds of winning any competition depend on the total number of valid entries received before the closing date.
  • The maximum number of entries available and the current number of entries sold will be displayed on the competition page prior to entry, allowing participants to make an informed decision before purchasing tickets.
  • Each valid entry (with a correctly answered question) has an equal and independent chance of being selected.
  • We do not guarantee any specific odds of winning, as the final number of entries may vary for each competition.
  • Where a random draw is used, winners are selected using a fair and unbiased process, either:
    • Conducted manually by us, or

7. Prizes

  • We reserve the right to substitute a prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if required.
  • Winners are responsible for any taxes, duties, or fees applicable outside the UK.
  • We accept no responsibility for any additional costs, taxes, duties, or expenses incurred in relation to the prize.

8. Winner Notification

  • Winners will be notified using the contact details provided at entry.
  • If a winner does not respond within a reasonable timeframe (typically 7–14 days), we reserve the right to redraw the prize.
  • Winners may be required to provide proof of identity and age.
  • Winners name and ticker number will be published on our website.
  • We shall not be liable for delays caused by third-party carriers, customs, or events beyond its reasonable control.

9. Delivery of Prizes

  • We will arrange delivery of prizes to the winner.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party couriers or customs for international deliveries.

10. Competition Limits and Refunds

  • Each competition may have a maximum number of entries.
  • If a competition has a minimum required number of entries and does not reach its minimum required entries, we reserve the right to:
    • Extend the competition, or
    • Offer a cash alternative or refund at our discretion.

    11. Cancellation / Force Majeure

    • We reserve the right to cancel, suspend, or amend any competition at any time where it becomes necessary to do so due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
    • Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
      • Technical failures or platform outages
      • Fraud, abuse, or suspected manipulation of the competition
      • Legal or regulatory changes affecting the operation of the competition
      • Events of force majeure such as natural disasters, fire, flood, pandemic, war, industrial action, or similar unforeseen events
      • Failure of third-party services, suppliers, or payment processors
    • In the event of cancellation:
      • All affected entrants will be refunded in full for valid entries, unless otherwise stated
      • No further liability shall be accepted by the Promoter beyond the refund of entry fees
    • We will make reasonable efforts to notify entrants of any cancellation or material changes as soon as practicable.

    12. Liability

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising out of participation in any Competition.
    Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

      • Automated methods, bots, scripts, or bulk entry services have been used
      • Payment methods have been used fraudulently or without proper authorisation
      • There has been any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the competition
      • The entrant has otherwise breached these Terms & Conditions
    • We may void entries, suspend accounts, or refuse participation where suspicious or abusive activity is identified.
    • Where fraud or abuse is suspected:
      • The Promoter reserves the right to withhold prizes pending investigation
      • Any affected entries may be declared void
      • No refunds will be issued where a breach of these Terms & Conditions has occurred
    • We reserve the right to request proof of identity, address, and payment method ownership before awarding any prize.
    • Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of a competition may result in:
      • Disqualification
      • Cancellation of entries
      • Legal action where appropriate
    • The use of chargebacks, payment disputes, or reversals after entering a competition may result in:
      • Immediate disqualification
      • Cancellation of all associated entries
      • Exclusion from future competitions
    • Our decision in relation to fraud, abuse, or unfair participation is final and binding.

    Any fraudulent activity may result in legal action.
